As the executive producer, screenplay author, and a director of “Interview With A King,” I am honored to bring my diverse background and experiences to this remarkable project. This animated short film holds immense significance for me, as it represents the culmination of a lifelong commitment to service, history, and storytelling.
My journey in the military and academia has shaped my perspective on leadership, social change, and the power of historical understanding. With a distinguished career spanning several assignments and positions, including my final active-duty assignment as Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1 Army Forces Command, I have had the privilege of serving alongside extraordinary individuals and witnessing the impact of their actions on the world.
My academic pursuits have further deepened my appreciation for history and its relevance to contemporary society. As the first African American to obtain a doctorate from the Department of History at Texas A&M University, I have dedicated my research and writing to shedding light on pivotal moments in history and their lasting implications.
In my role as the executive producer, screenplay author, and a director of “Interview With A King,” I have approached this project with utmost dedication and a profound sense of responsibility. Drawing from my expertise in history and leadership, I have meticulously crafted a screenplay that aims to capture the essence of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s character, struggles, and unwavering commitment to justice and equality.
Additionally, I have sought to assemble a team of passionate individuals who share a common vision for this project. Together, we have meticulously crafted a visually stunning and emotionally evocative experience that aims to transport audiences into the heart of Dr. King’s world. Our use of Character Creator AI technology and 3D animation serves as a powerful tool to bridge the gap between the past and the present, enabling viewers to engage with Dr. King’s message in a deeply personal and meaningful way as we endeavor to create a film that not only educates and entertains but also instills a deep sense of connection with Dr. King’s profound teachings.
Throughout my career, I have been driven by a passion for social progress and a dedication to serving others. As a member of various task forces, including the President and First Lady’s Task Force on “Raising Responsible and Resourceful Teenagers” and President Clinton’s “Mississippi Delta Task Force,” I have sought to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and communities.
“Interview With A King” is an extension of that commitment. It serves as a reminder of the power of individual voices to shape history and as an invitation for viewers to actively participate in the ongoing struggle for justice and equality. Through the medium of historical animation, we aim to inspire individuals to reflect on Dr. King’s teachings and to ignite meaningful discussions on the pressing social issues of our time. By blending historical accuracy, AI animation, and thought-provoking storytelling, we strive to create a deeply moving and transformative experience for viewers.

As the producer and a director of “Interview With A King,” I am deeply honored to be part of a project that pays tribute to the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This film holds personal significance for me, as my connection to Dr. King’s legacy goes back to my childhood.
I vividly remember the day of Dr. King’s funeral, standing in a crowd of thousands outside Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. At just six years old, my father, recognizing the profound impact of Dr. King’s life and work, chartered three buses to carry members from our church and our North Carolina community to attend the funeral. We embarked on a long journey, filled with profound grief, anticipation, and a deep sense of reverence for Dr. King’s immense contributions to the civil rights movement.
Upon arriving at the church, we joined the multitude of mourners, patiently waiting in line for hours to view Dr. King’s remains and pay our respects. However, as fate would have it, just as we reached the doors of the church, they closed, marking the start of the service. Despite being unable to actively participate in the funeral and having to listen to it through loud speakers outside the church, the impact it had on my young mind was profound. It planted a deep-seated dedication within me to uphold Dr. King’s ideals of equality, justice, and love throughout my life. The experience fostered an unwavering determination, firmly cementing my belief that advocating for what is right is worth sacrificing even my own life, if need be. At that tender age, any fear of human cruelty dissipated, replaced by an enduring commitment to carry a part of Dr. King’s spirit within my heart always.
Now, as the producer and a director of “Interview With A King,” I have had the privilege of immersing myself in the life and teachings of Dr. King once again. This film is a culmination of my personal journey and the unwavering belief in the power of storytelling to inspire change.
Through meticulous research, collaboration, and the use of innovative animation techniques, we have sought to capture the essence of Dr. King’s character and his profound impact on society. Our goal has been to create an intimate and authentic portrayal that not only educates but also resonates on a deeply emotional level.
